Week 9 - 2011 College Football Rankings

Alabama and LSU are on a collision course for a #1 versus #2 showdown this weekend. The gap tightened between the two just a bit this week, suggesting that an LSU victory should be enough to move the Tigers to the top spot. On the other hand, the sizeable difference between LSU and Oklahoma State at #3 suggest that a close game might also result in the loser staying ahead of the Cowboys in next week's rankings, even if Oklahoma State remains undefeated. All of this, of course, is affected by the performance of other teams these teams have played, and in fact, since everything is connected, in some small portion, the results of every game in the schedule. It will be interesting to see how things turn out. But for now, here are the rankings after nine weeks of the college football season.
