2014 College Football Rankings - Week 15

In our version, of the college football playoff, #1 Oregon would match up against #4 Ole Miss, while #2 Alabama would play against #3 TCU for a slot in the championship game. Well, it's not going to happen that way. That much is guaranteed. It would be extremely difficult for the committee to put a three-loss team in the playoff, even if the analysis of their season does show them to have had a more successful season than even undefeated Florida State (which everyone seems to accept as being in the playoff as much because of their performance in the 2013 season - the length of their overall winning streak - as for anything they actually did during the 2014 season).

Here is how the rankings stack up with just next week's Army-Navy game remaining in the regular season:
